“One of my favorite Jewish texts is in Pirkei Avot (The Ethics of Our Ancestors). In it, Ben Zoma asks the question, ‘Who is wise?’ and he answers, ‘the person who learns from everyone.’ It’s such an important lesson for all of us. We need to be open to those opportunities for learning any time, any place, anywhere, but most importantly, from anyone. We never know who our next teacher is going to be and what learning opportunities are there before us.”
